Morning ritual with Sam used to be getting the newspaper. With a quick "get the paper," she is up, out and back with the news
- in exchange for a jerky treat.
I have long since ended our daily paper, but when a promotional newspaper gets tossed into the yard, Sam will still run out and grab it to bring back in the house. Some habits are hard to forget.
